Sustainability at Dharma Drum University (DDM) - New Buddhist Campus, Taiwan

Master Shen-Yen's philosophy gives context to the Sustainability Group's conscious design methods.

Passive solar design for natural ventilation, passive cooling and heating.

Natural daylight is enhanced by ceiling slope as seen in the above cross section sketch.

Natural ventilation was the most critical passive solar strategy followed by solar electric potential; these factors had the most influence on design orientation.

A four acre advanced waste treatment pond system was proposed for biological waste treatment that would contribute to the open space and wildlife habitat.
